For everyone who works in a UAE school: teachers, teaching assistants, nurses, office staff, bus supervisors, canteen staff, coaches, cleaners and leaders. You will learn what an allergic reaction and anaphylaxis are, and how to recognise the signs using airway, breathing and circulation. You will practise the emergency steps: get the adrenaline pen given without delay, call for an ambulance now on 998 while someone fetches the school nurse, position the child, and hand over to the ambulance crew. You will learn the school nurse's role, who may give a pen, and how care plans, consent and health records work in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other UAE schools. You will learn how to keep pens safe and reachable, and how to plan for trips, events, celebrations and Ramadan. You will apply UAE school food rules, including Abu Dhabi's ban on nuts, soy and sesame and Dubai's allergen menus, read labels, include every child, and act on allergy bullying and child protection worries straight away. The course doesn't teach you to diagnose, and it doesn't replace your school nurse's hands-on training. It is built on the DHA Standards for Clinics in Educational and Academic Settings, the DoH Abu Dhabi Medication Administration Standards in Schools, ADEK's Health and Safety and Food and Nutrition policies, the Abu Dhabi school nutrition guideline ADG 2/2025, the Dubai Municipality Food Code, MoHAP's national school health and school food guidance, and Wadeema's Law. Where your school nurse has their own forms and plans, follow them for the detail.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
12 questions are selected for each attempt, one group per learning outcome. You need 80% to pass. If you do not pass, the feedback points you back to the section each question came from. You have 3 attempts to pass. A pass is never counted, so you can always take the course again once you have passed. 5 attempts that do not pass within 12 months close the assessment for 12 months.
An employer sees whether you passed and your certificate. They never see your answers, your scores or how many attempts you took.
13 sections you can read or listen to, and a certificate when you pass.

Allergy and Anaphylaxis Safety for UAE School Staff
Certificate of completion
Anyone can check it on the verification page, without an account.
One section is open below. The other 12, the narration, the transcripts and the assessment come with Premium.
A severe reaction can start within minutes, and the adult nearest the child is often not the nurse.
A severe allergic reaction is called anaphylaxis. Dubai's health authority describes it as a 'potentially fatal' allergic reaction to things such as stinging insects, foods and medicines. ADEK calls it a medical emergency that needs immediate medical attention.
You work alongside the school nurse. The nurse plans and leads the care. You are the eyes and hands in the classroom, the canteen, the playground, the bus and on trips.
If you think a child is having a severe allergic reaction, act now. Get the adrenaline pen to the child and make sure it is given without delay. Call for an ambulance now: 998 (999 also reaches emergency services). Section 2.1 shows you every step.
Based on: DHA Standards for Clinics in Educational and Academic Settings, version 4.1 (2025, definitions); ADEK School Health and Safety Policy, version 1.1 (definitions); DoH Abu Dhabi Medication Administration Standards in Schools, version 2 (2026, Table 1: adrenaline 'shall not be delayed'); the UAE emergency numbers (u.ae, 'Handling emergencies'); and general good practice (the nurse's role in practice and the reveal).
