For everyone who works in a UAE public or private school: teachers, teaching assistants, office staff, bus staff and coaches. You will learn why behaviour is communication, how relationships, recognition and routines prevent most problems, how to respond to low-level behaviour and stay calm when things escalate, and when physical intervention is allowed. You will learn the hard lines no adult may cross, who decides sanctions, how to support students of determination, how to deal with bullying and cyberbullying, and how to record behaviour and spot when it is a sign of harm. It is built on the Ministry of Education's student behaviour regulation (Ministerial Resolution No. 851 of 2018), the Ministry's bullying prevention policy (Ministerial Resolution No. 645 of 2020), ADEK's School Student Behavior Policy for Abu Dhabi private and charter schools, and Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 on Child Rights (Wadeema's Law). Your school's own behaviour policy, within your regulator's rules, sets the detail.

12 questions are selected for each attempt, one group per learning outcome. You need 80% to pass. If you do not pass, the feedback points you back to the section each question came from. You have 3 attempts to pass. A pass is never counted, so you can always take the course again once you have passed. 5 attempts that do not pass within 12 months close the assessment for 12 months.
An employer sees whether you passed and your certificate. They never see your answers, your scores or how many attempts you took.
14 sections you can read or listen to, and a certificate when you pass.

Every day, students show us how they feel through what they do. A student who shouts, refuses to work or walks out of class is telling you something. They may be tired, hungry, worried, lost in the lesson, struggling with English or Arabic, or upset by something at home or online.
This doesn't mean behaviour doesn't matter. It does. It means your first question is 'What is going on for this student?', and not only 'What sanction do they get?' (A sanction is the consequence a school gives for misconduct.)
This isn't only good practice. UAE behaviour rules say it too. The Ministry of Education's behaviour regulation says the school must look at the causes first. That means the student's social, educational, psychological, health and financial circumstances. Staff must also respect the student's character and feelings.
ADEK's policy for Abu Dhabi private and charter schools says the first step with any misconduct is to understand what is behind it. The student must get a chance to explain. Sharjah's private schools regulator (SPEA) also says schools must study the learner's circumstances before any sanction.
Before any sanction, find out what is behind the behaviour and give the student a chance to explain. Support comes first.
Behaviour is often the first sign that a student is struggling. A sudden change, such as a quiet student becoming angry or a lively student becoming withdrawn, can be a sign of worry, illness, bullying or harm. You will learn what to do about possible harm in 5.4. For more on students' mental health, see the student wellbeing course in this catalogue.
Behaviour that comes from a disability or an additional need also needs a different response. You will learn about this in 4.3.
Based on: general good practice (behaviour as communication, possible reasons for it, and the Ramadan example), and the Ministry of Education's behaviour regulation (Ministerial Resolution No. 851 of 2018, Article 9), ADEK's School Student Behavior Policy (sections 4.1 and 4.6) and SPEA's policy on managing learners' behaviour in private schools (section 4.3.2).
