For receptionists, administrators, registrars, attendance and data officers, and anyone new to a UAE school office. You will learn what the school office does, which regulator your school answers to (ADEK, KHDA, the Ministry of Education, SPEA or the RAK Department of Knowledge), and how the regulator's system and your school's own system (the MIS) fit together. You will practise keeping student and family records accurate and matched to the Emirates ID, handling personal data under the UAE's data protection law, and sending, sharing and exporting information safely. You will learn how attendance is recorded and followed up, and why the rules differ by regulator, as well as the documents and steps for registration, transfers and leavers. You will practise checking visitors and collections, passing any worry about a child to your child protection lead straight away, and handling calls, emails and difficult conversations with families. Rules are taught regulator by regulator, with most detail for ADEK and KHDA schools. The course is product-neutral: it teaches the ideas that work in any MIS. It is built on Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on personal data, ADEK's Records, Student Administrative Affairs, Safeguarding, Fees and Parent Engagement policies, Dubai Executive Council Resolution No. 2 of 2017 and KHDA's registration and refund rules, the Ministry of Education's Student Assessment Policy Guide 2026-2027, the RAK Department of Knowledge Attendance Policy and Wadeema's Law. Where your school has its own procedures, follow them for the detail.

The school office is the hub of the school. Student records, attendance, admissions, calls and messages from parents, visitors at the gate and everyday paperwork all pass through it.
You may hold one of these roles, or several:
You see private information about children and families every day. Talk about a student or family only when your role needs it. Don't discuss it with other parents, with colleagues who don't need to know, or outside school. Remember who can hear you at the front desk or on the phone.
Calls, visitors and urgent tasks often arrive at the same time. Tell people what is happening, finish or safely pause the task, and then give the next person your full attention.
Paperwork can wait. A worry about a child's safety can't. If you see or hear something that worries you about a child, tell your child protection lead straight away, whatever else you are doing. Section 4.2 shows you how.
Based on: Wadeema's Law (Federal Law No. 3 of 2016, Article 42: people who work in a child's education must report) and the safeguarding course's child protection route; and general good practice (the office roles, professional conduct, priorities and the reveal).
