For everyone who works in a UAE school: teachers, teaching assistants, nurses, counsellors, office staff, bus staff, cleaners, coaches and leaders. This course is about your own wellbeing at work, not your students'. You will learn what staff wellbeing is, what UAE rules expect of schools and employers, and how to notice pressure, stress and burnout early, in yourself and in colleagues. You will try practical habits for workload, boundaries, rest, Ramadan and life far from family, and practise a supportive conversation with a colleague. You will learn where to get help, including the official UAE support lines, how to cope when safeguarding work stays with you, and what to do straight away if a colleague may not be safe or a colleague's conduct towards a student worries you. The course is practical: it doesn't label anyone, and it doesn't replace a doctor. It is built on ADEK's School Staff Wellbeing Policy, KHDA's Wellbeing Matters framework, Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 on labour relations, Federal Law No. 10 of 2023 on mental health and Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 on Child Rights (Wadeema's Law). If your school has its own policies, follow them for the detail.

This course is about you: your own wellbeing at work. It is for everyone who works in a UAE school. That includes teachers, teaching assistants, nurses, counsellors, office staff, bus staff, cleaners, coaches and leaders.
Wellbeing doesn't mean feeling happy all the time. Good wellbeing means that, most of the time, you can cope with the normal pressures of your job, do your work well, rest when you stop, and feel connected to the people around you. Everyone has hard days and hard weeks. Wellbeing is about what happens over time.
Studies from many countries, including the UAE, find that stress is common among teachers. Long-term stress can affect your sleep, your health, your family life and your work. Students notice when the adults around them are calm and steady, so your wellbeing matters to them too.
Your wellbeing is partly in your own hands and partly in your school's hands. But a breathing exercise can't fix a workload that is too big. That is why this course also looks at what schools and leaders can do.
You don't need any training in wellbeing to use this course. You are the person who notices, stays kind and steady, and helps yourself or a colleague find the right support.
If you have thoughts of ending your life, or you feel you can't keep yourself safe, get help now. If you might act on these thoughts, call 999 for the police or 998 for an ambulance, wherever you are in the UAE. In Abu Dhabi, 800-SAKINA (800 725462) is open 24 hours a day. In Dubai, 800 506 (Itma'en) is open every day from 9am to midnight. Don't stay alone with it: tell someone you trust now.
Based on: the World Health Organization's description of burn-out as an occupational phenomenon (2019); international and UAE research on teacher stress (see the course's source list); the UAE emergency numbers (u.ae); the Department of Health Abu Dhabi announcement of 800-SAKINA (3 March 2026); the Dubai Health and Dubai Media Office announcements of Itma'en 800 506 (13 March 2026); and general good practice (what wellbeing means, the table and the reveal).
