For teaching assistants, learning support assistants (LSAs), Inclusion Assistants and Individual Assistants in UAE public and private schools, in every emirate, and for anyone new to the role. You will learn what the role involves and why you work under the direction of the class teacher, who stays accountable for every student's learning. You will learn which regulator your school follows and what it expects before you start. You will learn the national Code of Conduct for Education Professionals and the cultural expectations that go with it: dress, physical contact, personal accounts and photos, tutoring, gifts, and staying neutral on religion and politics. You will practise supporting learning without creating dependency, supporting students of determination through their plan without labelling anyone, and keeping information private. You will learn to respond to behaviour through the school's system, to use physical intervention only as a last resort, and to pass any worry about a child to your child protection lead straight away. Where regulators differ, your school and regulator will tell you the detail. The course is built on the Ministry of Education's Code of Conduct for Education Professionals in General Education (2022), Federal Decree-Law No. 18 of 2020 on Private Education, ADEK's Staff Eligibility, Employment, Inclusion, Professional Code of Ethics, Cultural Consideration, Digital and Student Behavior policies, KHDA's staff appointment rules and inclusive education framework, the Ministry of Education's School for All rules and Ministerial Resolution No. 851 of 2018, and Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 on Child Rights (Wadeema's Law).
